Medical Director & Co-Owner

Dr. Michelle Pryor Bouchard was born and raised in Oceanside, California. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from San Diego State University (Go Aztecs!) before pursuing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at St. George’s University on the beautiful Caribbean island of Grenada. She completed her clinical training at Auburn University in 2016 and soon returned home to North County San Diego.

With a special interest in internal medicine, preventative care, and surgery, Dr. Pryor is dedicated to delivering comprehensive and compassionate veterinary care. Over the past decade, she has made Escondido her home and feels honored to serve the local community.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Pryor enjoys life with her loving husband, their two energetic daughters, two cats, and a senior dog. Together, they love traveling to national parks, camping, enjoying desert adventures, watching football, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Pryor is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming environment for pets and their families. She believes in building strong, trusting partnerships with pet owners—helping guide them through all stages of their pet’s life, from the joyful puppy and kitten months to the more complex senior years. Her goal is to make even the toughest medical decisions feel more manageable by working collaboratively as a team.

Now, as proud co-owner of West Escondido Pet Hospital alongside her practice manager, Heather, Dr. Pryor is excited for the opportunity to care for your beloved pets. She looks forward to meeting you and becoming a trusted part of your family’s journey.
